The Vision
Why solar, why now
Pakistan's installed generation capacity comfortably exceeds demand on paper, yet an ageing, congested grid struggles to deliver that capacity reliably to homes and industry. Distributed solar generation sidesteps that bottleneck entirely - generating power where it's consumed.
With strong year-round solar irradiance and millions of households unlikely to see a reliable grid connection for years, solar isn't a niche alternative in Pakistan - it's the most practical path to dependable power.

The Management
Engr. Qazi Irfan - CEO
Qazi Irfan, is a seasoned electrical engineer and Member Director & CEO of the company. A graduate of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore (77-Elect), he was among the pioneering engineers at FAST before founding his own enterprise in 1984.
Over four decades, he has built deep expertise across VHF radio communications, engineering software, electronics and solar energy disciplines, complemented by substantial cross-border trading experience. He is also an accomplished author, having written a book and several professional papers.
Timeline & Roadmap
From incorporation to a listed company timeline plan
- 2012 — Established & Incorporated
Comtec Energy was incorporated as Private Limited company with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) on January 18th, 2012
- 2014 — OEM Solar Panels
Introduced company’s own OEM brand Mono & Poly Crystalline solar panels using 125mm & 156mm cells.
- 2015 — Al Profiles for Solar Panels
Introduced our own-designed aluminium profiles for rooftop & ground mounting solar panel’s installation, first used on a 105kWp project at FAST University, Islamabad.
- 2016 — LED Street Lights
Launched our own made-in-Pakistan LED street light brand, in AC and DC types.
- 2017 — G-Cell SLA Batteries
Introduced a domestic OEM SLA battery brand for solar applications; now developing a Lithium-Ion successor.
- 2018 — Solar Pumps
As distributor of Franklin Electric Inc (USA), we supplied and/or installed more than 1100 submersible pumps; approved brand in Punjab government scheme of High Efficiency Irrigation System (HEIS) under its PIPIP project co-funded by world bank.
- 2021 — Converted to Public Limited
Successfully converted from Private to Public Limited Company in January 2021.
- 2022 — Microgrid Solutions
Installed our first solar microgrid at an Islamabad local school, August 2022.
- 2027 — Listed Company (Target)
Working towards a listing on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
